We had a large, enthusiastic turnout for auditions last weekend. Between vocal performances, dance routines, and readings of selected scenes from the play, it was an intense three days. We want to thank everyone who auditioned for the effort they put into their preparations and their time commitments. Their work beforehand clearly showed, and made the final selection process more difficult than usual.

We know how disappointing it can be to not find your name on the part you desired, or even in the cast list, but please don’t let it discourage you from future auditions. MAMMA MIA! has unusual casting requirements with its small, tight groupings of adult women, adult men, young women, and young men. Each grouping requires a certain cohesiveness of age and presentation. Honoring those casting requirements has meant that some talented performers, through no fault of their own, have not been offered roles in this production. Don’t let this deter your theatrical aspirations. Once again, thank you for auditioning.

We’ll be posting a lot more information on cast members in the near future, so keep checking-in to follow their progress.

AUDITIONS BEGIN TOMORROW - April 25th, 2019

The journey is about to begin! For all you hopefuls wanting to come with us, you’ve already taken the first step and we want to say thank you for that — for the time, energy, and effort you’ve put into your preparations for the MAMMA MIA! Auditions. Bring your best stuff!

AUDITIONS REMINDER - April 19th, 2019

We’re a week away from Mamma Mia Auditions! We know you’re working on your vocal audition number, but have you got your Audition Information and Release forms filled-out yet? Don't wait until you get there. You can download the forms by clicking above, fill-them out using your keyboard, print them and you’re all set — well, you or a parent will have to hand-sign the Release Form 😃.

If you’ve been to City Lights Cinemas this past week, you’ve probably seen our Audition announcement playing. We want to thank City Lights Cinemas and Michael Falter for supporting our production of Mamma Mia! Our thanks also go to Cross Road Assembly of God Church and Pastor Dale Edwards for making their facility available for auditions.

See you next week!

INITIAL ANNOUNCEMENT - February 23, 2019

Welcome to the home page for Last Resort Player’s 2019 fall production of MAMMA MIA! There will be seven performances of MAMMA MIA! over two successive weekends, beginning Friday Nov. 1st and ending Sunday Nov. 10th. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday performances will begin at 7:00 pm; Sunday performances will begin at 2:00 pm.

Performances will be in the main theater of the Florence Events Center, with seating for 455 people. It has excellent sight-lines, comfortable seating, is handicapped accessible, and includes special equipment for hearing-impaired patrons. FEC

Information on this website will have an emphasis on the production company itself — e.g., the cast and production team. Presently, the production team is being formed. Auditions will be coming in late April, so if you’re interested, check this website periodically for announcements of audition dates, times, and locations.

To familiarize yourself with the play, the topics on the sidebar menu in the upper right of all pages will be useful. You’ll find a detailed synopsis of the play, a list of principal and featured character roles (with stage ages and vocal ranges). Snippets of musical numbers (with vocal assignments) are also included, along with a history of the play (there won’t be a test). Additional topics will be added as the production develops, e.g., cast and production team biographies, photo gallery, playbill, etc. You can use the email icon in the sidebar menu to get in touch with the production team (want to be notified when audition dates/times/locations are finalized?). A Facebook page for the production company will be up shortly along with a Twitter feed.
