Last Resort Players: Mamma Mia! Cast

CASTING CHANGES - August 24, 2019

Community theater requires a certain degree of flexibility. Our performers generally have day jobs, family responsibilities, and sometimes, despite their best intentions and planning, “life” just gets in the way. The following performers have withdrawn from the production company:

WENDY KRAUSE as Donna Sheridan

Wendy Krause Some would say Wendy was born with a microphone in her hand. She was two years old when she sang her first song at a wedding and cried when they took the microphone away from her. She's been performing ever since. Theater and acting got in her blood in high school and continued through college and beyond. She had the honor of playing the lead roles of Daisy Mae in LRP’s production of Li’l Abner and Sugar in the musical version of Some Like It Hot, named aptly, Sugar. She again took the stage in 2017's musical comedy I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change. Locals may recognize her from her solos in the Holly Jolly Follies for 9 years and the original Follies in the 90's. She gets her musical chops from her mom, Pat. Wendy is mother to two beautiful daughters (just ask, she'll tell you!) Alayna and Jasmine and followed the footsteps of her father, Tim, into the world of Real Estate. Wendy is a Florence native.

BRYNNE GRAFF as Sophie Sheridan

Brynne Sapp Stepping into the role of Sophie is an exciting experience for Brynne. Exciting, but natural. She is well acquainted with stage craft, being a member of a family of performers. Her most famous role was as Brynne Elf in the Holly Jolly Follies for 7 years. She honed her acting skills in Into The Woods (Rapunzel), Song of Survival, and other local productions; she has performed as a soloist and dancer in many venues; and Mamma Mia! is giving her an opportunity to enjoy all three crafts. When not onstage, Brynne teaches gymnastics, shares vintage clothing in her new store, dances salsa, and loves picking flowers wherever she finds them!

JENNIFER MARUS as Tanya Cresham-Leigh

Jennifer Marus This is Jennifer’s second role in an LRP musical. She starred as Velma in LRP’s 2015 production of Chicago. But she is hardly a stranger to the stage; she has been dancing for nearly a decade, and is always looking for new ways to find the rush of a performance. She is thrilled to portray Tanya in this LRP production, and has truly enjoyed the experience of working with amazing people from her last musical experience, and getting to know more of our truly talented theater community here in Florence. Jennifer knew it would be a musical with the right amount of fun, and spirit to call her back to the stage... so sit back, relax, and enjoy Mama Mia! because here she goes again!

DEANN HAWKINS as Rosie Mulligan

DeAnn Hawkins Having moved to Florence from the East Coast just a year and a half ago, DeAnn is new to the theater scene here. She grew up in a crazy, musical family as the youngest of six children and cannot remember a time when she wasn’t singing. She is married with three grown children who make her life sweeter. When DeAnn is not singing, you can usually find her hiking, kayaking or baking. She is making her debut performance with the Last Resort Players in Mamma Mia! and feels blessed to be a part of this wonderful production.

JASON WOOD as Sam Carmichael

Jason Wood Jason is thrilled to be returning to the FEC stage with so many talented people! Florence audiences may remember him as William Barfee in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Mama Morton in Chicago or in many appearances as his alter ego, Fanny Rugburn. He is also a private vocal coach with a studio of over 30 students and has worked as musical director for many main stage productions with C.R.O.W. Jason is so happy you decided to join us for a short trip to a little Greek island. Now, say it with me, BRING ON THE ABBA!!

MATT KORSO as Harry Bright

Matt Korso Matt has been a part of the Florence theater scene for over 10 years now. He has enjoyed playing such parts as The Baker in Into The Woods, Billy Flynn in Chicago as well as The Emcee in Cabaret. He was most recently seen as George Gould Strong in Grey Gardens. Matt is excited to travel to the Greek Islands with the Mamma Mia cast...because c'mon...who doesn't love ABBA?!

James McKinney James was heavily involved in theater while attending Tigard Senior High, having roles in 8 productions and being assistant director for Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. Some of his roles include the Dentist in Little Shop of Horrors, Arthur Gride in Nicholas Nickleby, and Chee Chee the Monkey in Dr. Doolittle. About 12 years ago, James starred as the Ghost of Christmas Present in the Florence Playhouse's rendition of A Christmas Carol. He is quite excited to be involved in theater again and plans on trying out for many roles with LRP in the future. He performed with a band from Spokane, WA for 20 years called Civilized Animal who opened up for many well know musicians including Weird Al Yankovich, N'Sync, Afroman, Smash Mouth and Fish Bone, to name a few.

William Owen William is a 16 year old 11th Grader at Siuslaw High School. He has also been an actor since the age of 6 and has been in LRP’s Suessical. Along with acting and being onstage, William has a lot of experience backstage and has a thorough understanding of A/V tech, particularly with microphones. He also has experience editing videos with Adobe Premiere. Outside of school, he has a deep love for piano; his favorite composer is Claude Debussy. When he grows up, William wants to be a professional Pianist, Actor, and Video Editor.

Lyndsey Keppol Lyndsey has been in many productions on stage and off. Whether she is singing, dancing, working back stage, or in the orchestra pit; she enjoys being apart of her community's theater productions. She does feel a little type-cast in this role because she is super sarcastic, as is her character Ali.

Haylee Cole Haylee is 14 years old and has been singing and dancing since she was 3. A few years later she found the stage and has been acting ever since. Haylee’s first production with LRP was playing Young Cosette in Les Miserables. In her free time she enjoys sports, writing, watching her favorite shows and hanging out with friends. Watch for Haylee and you will see her love for acting as she lights up the stage.

Ramiro Ramirez Ramiro Ramirez is honored and ecstatic to be a part of Last Resort Players main-stage musical production of Mamma Mia! He is 17 years old and one talented young man from piano player, computer savvy, tap dancer and singer, you can say he is not a one trick pony. Passionate about NASCAR, he dreams of someday journeying up the racing ladder to the Cup level. In the meantime, he stays busy with school work, Leadership, soccer, Viking Hour, National Honor Society and monthly Siuslaw Newspaper articles. He is excited to graduate this year from Siuslaw High School and go off to college to pursue a B.S. in computer science. He hopes you enjoy the show and music as much as he!

Kristopher Keppol Kristopher, who generally goes by Topher, says that, like his character Eddie, he’s smart and a bit of a goof. He really likes that Eddie helped build a website for a place that nobody really knew about. When Topher isn't working (and lately rehearsing), he's likely to be found on his computer, or in a group game of Dungeons and Dragons. He's also happy to be sharing the stage with his sister and dad. Oh, and he can ride a unicycle.

JIM WELLINGTON as Father Alexandrios, Ensemble

JAMES WELLINGTON Jim Wellington’s lifelong love affair with theater has taken him from enthusiastic audience member to theater major, from attending theater workshops to directing them, from street theater to community theater. In Florence, he has appeared in Twelve Angry Men, Arsenic and Old Lace, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Cabaret, Les Miserables, A Christmas Memory, The Sound Of Music, Pirates Of Penzance, The Diary Of Anne Frank, and more.

ANGELA APODACA Angela is delighted to be in her first LRP production and this wonderful cast. She may be new to the Florence theater scene, but you may have seen her around town dropping verse and prose at open mics, poetry slams, and other events. Creating theater makes her soul dance, yes like a Dancing Queen, and some of her favorite performances include the Ingenio Festival at Milagro Theatre, participating in the Native Voices theater troupe for ABC Discovers, portraying El Diablito in South Coast Repertory's production The Long Road Today, and her playwriting adventures with fellow ensemble members at Breath of Fire Latina Theater Ensemble.

MARINA ARBOGAST Marina Arbogast is a 20-year old with a passion for all things funky and fun. She has always loved telling stories and playacting in them; she once had a teacher convinced she had a secret room in her house where she wrote stories. Her creative brain also leads her to art, dance and musical instruments. Mamma Mia! is Marina’s first time performing in a musical, but she has prior experience upon the stage. She is ecstatic to be able to be a part of this show, and hopes that you love it as much as she does.

TAMARA COLE Tamara is a native Oregonian who moved to Florence 14 years ago with her 4 beautiful daughters and husband Keith to operate their family-owned BJ’s Ice Cream. Tamara is no stranger to the local theater community largely due to her youngest daughter, Haylee’s, many appearances on stage. Her extensive experience backstage paved the way for her adventure onto the stage. Her first performance was Nod in the Holly Jolly Follies. She followed that with the stand-out role of Olive in LRP's production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Tamara's greatest satisfaction with Mamma Mia! is getting to share the stage with daughter Haylee.

JOEY HAINES My name is Joey Haines, and I am 12 years old, and just started 7th grade. I live with my Dad, Mom, two brothers, and a sister — and my new kitten. I take voice and piano lessons, and this is the 4th show I have been in, including Tarzan, A Christmas Story, and The Wiz. I love swimming in my pool, nerf gun battles, reading fantasy fiction, doing tricks on my scooter, and playing on my XBOX.

GRANT HARMOND Grant is very honored and excited to help bring this amazing show to life with such a great cast and crew. Grant last appeared as Claude Jean Van Dumbe in the murder mystery comedy Murder at the Tonylou Awards. Some of Grant's favorite roles include Carl in A Nice Family Gathering, Drake in Annie, Howard in Moon Over Buffalo, Aaron in Chicago, Justin Waverly in Dearly Beloved, and several others. Grant has also had several opportunities to share his passion for dance on stage, performing with The Tip Top Tappers and other dance troupes.

ALICIA HICKSON Alicia Hickson, part of the Kalokairi Islanders ensemble, is very proud to be a part of LRP's production of Mamma Mia! Alicia's love for musicals started at a young age with MGM, Fred Astaire, Disney and Elvis. Since 2015, she has been a vocal student of Wood Vocal Studio and played “Prissy Elf” in C.R.O.W’s Holly Jolly Follies’ last 3 productions. Alicia lives in Florence and would like to thank her husband, Ned; children, Elyse, Connor, Jake and Elizabeth for their love and support. She also thanks Jason Wood for his encouragement to challenge herself; Melanie Jacobson-Heard and Ellen Jacobson for introducing her to the stage.

PATRICIA IMMEL Mama Mia, how can I resist you? The shear energy and fun of this show inspires Patricia. Dance and song have always been an important part of her life. She’s excited to be on stage with this stellar cast. This will be Patricia’s second LRP production: She played Sister Margareta in The Sound of Music. Professionally, Patricia is an acupuncturist, herbalist, and entrepreneur. Having moved to Florence in 2001, she enjoys a beautiful life.

DANIAL KEPPOL This is Danial’s third production on stage with The Last Resort Players, though he’s spent six more years playing various instruments in the orchestra pit. He sang with the Eugene Opera the past two years and also plays with the Yachats Big Band the first Thursday of every month. Danial majored in studio music at Cal State Northridge. He's worked previously with daughter Lyndsey in LRP productions of Chicago and Grey Gardens, but MAMMA MIA! is especially satisfying for him, working again with Lyndsey and now son Kristopher.

LAURA GRAHAM MILLER After studying at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts Laura spent many happy years performing theatrically as well as working behind camera in television production. Favorite roles include Rachel in Reckless and Babe in Crimes of the Heart. She has had the pleasure of being part of LRP’s A Christmas Story and Murder at the Tony Lou Awards and she appeared in It’s About Time Productions’ Murder on the Oriental Rug. She’s grateful to be involved in this vibrant theatre community and excited to be in her first musical with this amazing cast and music crew.

AMY OWENS This is Amy’s third show with LRP. She previously appeared in Cabaret and Chicago. You may have also seen her in Holly Jolly Follies 2017 and 2018. In her free time Amy enjoys volunteering backstage for CROW and taking tap dance classes. Both of Amy's children are active in CROW, which is how she discovered her love for the performing arts. You have seen both of her children, Kristin and William Owens, in nearly every CROW production! Amy is especially proud to share the stage with her son William, who is playing Sky for you today. She hopes you enjoy the show!
